I’m not what one would call a “religious person”.  I was raised Catholic.  I believe in God and Jesus.  I don’t go to Church anymore.  My Mother was born in Ecuador in 1921.  She prayed everyday; probably several times a day.  She had her prayer books & cards.
When I realized a few days before Ash Wednesday that it was coming up, I thought it would be a perfect time to start over again.  To stop eating so much and not exercising.  To once again try to get fit and lose weight.
With the death of Whitney Houston, I thought that I must end my addiction to food.  I want to overcome it to live a better life.  I don’t want it to kill me; to kill my chance to live a more fulfilling life.
So I begin again.
